Due to the unusual amount of interest in what was a birthday gift for my wife about four years ago (yes, I am very brave) I have modeled the plywood toilet in its entirety, and have put the 2D drawings as well as a 3D dwf model here for free download.
The plans and model have all of the dimensional information needed to build one of these yourself, but do not contain step-by-step instructions. I will put those here on an as-requested basis. I simply do not have the time nor the inclination to go into what will be very tedious construction details for something I doubt will be built by more than a handful of people.
If you need help, please visit the forum and post it there. It will be replied to promptly. Below are links to some of the hardware (coming monday). The funnel is the hardest to find, and you may not be able to get it locally. If you get free shipping, it may be a better deal to shop online. The Envirotex seems pretty cheap at seven and a half bucks. It is a two-part epoxy finish that gives that deep glossy finish look, but more important in this case is that it will make the project waterproof.
The 2D Drawings, 3D Model, and 3D Exploded View Animation
And an early animation can be found here. I’ll make a new one when I can get Inventor to stop crashing when I hit the ‘Animate’ button…
The information is in DWFX format. If you don’t have Autodesk Design Review installed, you can get a free copy from Autodesk. You can view the file either directly in the Design Review program, or, once Design Review is installed, you can view right in Internet Explorer. The file is zipped because it will not download otherwise. Just click on one of the bold link above, then select ‘Open’, then wait for the 12 or so meg file to download. When downloaded, double click to open the ZIP file and it should either open in IE or Design Review. The animation starts immediately, and you can pan, zoom, and rotate while it plays. With both of the files, the 3D model is behind the scenes and you can switch to view it if you wish.
In the 2D drawing where the file starts, if you go to the top-right of the screen there will be forward and back arrows. Click the right arrow and you will have the 3D model, click again and you will have the second page of the 2D drawings that has the exploded view on it, another click will bring you to the 3D animation. Every 2D page you go thru has the underlying 3D model on the next page.
