iLogic Tutorial – Creating the iLogic Rules
Here is an image of the features just completed…
Now suppress the holes and the pattern just created, and we will begin writing the iLogic rules.
The first thing you need to do is switch tabs from Model to Manage. The first rule will be the one connected to the iLogic parameter created earlier called ‘Handed’ that will control whether the door is right, left, or unhanded. The first thing to do is open up the iLogic Parameter Editor. To do so, go to the Parameter Panel and click the little down arrow to expose the iLogic Parameters command. Select it to bring up the iLogic editor. Set the parameter Filters in the lower left corner to All-All
to show all parameters. Scroll all the way to the top of the list, and make the top 6 parameters Key
parameters by checking the box to the right as shown in the image below.
With that done, change the filter settings to All-Key
. At this setting, only parameters with the key designation are shown, the rest filtered out. It makes it a lot easier to work with a shorter list, and parameters can be added or subtracted from the list as deemed necessary. In our case, there are only seven key parameters as shown below…
Click done to close the Parameter Panel and save the changes. We will now begin to write the Handed rule. Because there is already a parameter called Handed, the rule needs to be called something else, and I chose Left_Right. To start the rule, click on the Add Rule
tool on the iLogic Panel
(Manage Tab). This will bring up a little dialog box as shown to the right. Enter Left_Right into the text box and click OK to accept the name.
